Completing the Challenge

Today I completed the Ten Days of Meditation Challenge.  My life has been forever changed.  Just kidding.  But throughout the ten days, there were plenty moments of discovery and observation.  There were brief, and I mean brief, instances of complete clarity, acceptance, and peace.  A part of my mind, and I think a part of all our minds, wants us to always feel this state of total bliss.  Of course, there’s the other part that’s always thinking, always prepping, and always worrying.

When I don’t meditate, I feel overwhelmed by this worrying mind, which leads to stress and anxiety.  When I do meditate, I’m reminded that I have a choice in how I feel and which part of the mind I focus on.  I have bursts of creativity uninhibited by self judgement, “aha moments” of feeling compassion towards those I’ve labeled as “bad”, and the motivation to feel at peace as much as possible.

I will try to take this challenge beyond the ten days and incorporate it into my daily, err… semi-daily 😉 life.
